Raptor Bay Golf Club
WCI Communities, Inc., in partnership with Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa, sought the expertise of golf legend Raymond Floyd to design 18 golf holes and make history as the first resort course in the World to receive Audubon International's Gold Signature Sanctuary Certification. Working closely with Audubon International, Raptor Bay has made a commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, creating a model for future golf course development.
Each golf hole was carefully crafted to blend with the environment, leaving a beautiful course with natural surroundings. Blending a properly designed golf course with preserved and restored habitat is not only good for the game of golf, but promotes biological diversity. Raptor Bay, under the guidance of Audubon International, developed an ecological design that preserved the most valuable habitats on site and restored nearly 25 acres of wetlands.
Raptor Bay's old Florida-style clubhouse offers an Ernest Hemingway feel, combining rich textures, bright colors and West Indies-style furniture. Braxton's, the clubhouse grille, offers terrace seating, which wraps around the restaurant and lounge while overlooking the 18th green and practice area. The full service golf shop of more than 1,500 square feet overlooks Raptor Bay's first tee. Attended men's and women's locker rooms offer golfers the highest level of service in the area.
